Tile shows every shortcut underneath it, which is why we spend as much time on what goes under the tile as on the tile itself. We install porcelain, ceramic, natural stone and large-format tile across the Asheville area — floors, walls, showers, backsplashes, mudrooms and entryways — on a substrate that has been checked for flatness and deflection and made good before a single tile is set. Layout is planned dry first so the cuts land where they should and the pattern runs out evenly at the far wall, thinset is combed and back-buttered for full coverage, levelling clips keep large-format flat, and the joints are grouted and sealed properly once everything has cured.

Our Process

Measure & Plan

We measure the space, check the floor or wall for flat, talk through tile size, pattern and grout colour, and give you a written price.

Prep the Surface

Old covering out, substrate levelled or backer board fitted, waterproofing where there is water. This is the part nobody sees and every failure starts here.

Set the Tile

Dry layout first, then set in combed thinset with the joints spaced and the large formats clipped level, working the cuts to the least visible edges.

Grout & Finish

Grouted once the thinset has cured, haze cleaned off, silicone at the changes of plane, and stone or grout sealed where it needs it.
