Drywall Finishing

Taping, bedding, coating and sanding to a flat, paint-ready wall

Free EstimateAsheville & 50 Miles · Mon – Sat

Finishing is the part of drywall people actually see, and it is the part that cannot be rushed. We tape, bed, coat and sand to a true paint-ready wall: tape embedded in compound so it cannot blister later, corner bead set straight and coated out wide enough that the shadow disappears, screw heads spotted twice, and every coat allowed to dry before the next one goes on. We finish to the level the room needs — a level 4 for most walls, a level 5 skim where big windows, sidelights or gloss paint will rake across the surface and show every seam. Then we sand, dust down, and check the whole wall under a light before we call it done.

Our Process

1

Agree the Level

We look at the light in the room and the paint you plan to use, tell you which finish level it needs and why, and price it in writing.

2

Tape & Bed

Joints filled and tape bedded, corner bead set true, fasteners spotted. Everything dries fully before the next coat.

3

Coat It Out

Two or three wider coats feathered past the joint, so the seam disappears into the wall instead of sitting on top of it.

4

Sand & Check

Pole-sanded flat, dusted down, then walked with a light held against the wall. Anything that shows gets another coat, not an excuse.
