Question 1

What areas does Leo Drywall cover?

Accepted Answer

Asheville and roughly fifty miles around it: Weaverville, Black Mountain, Fletcher, Hendersonville, Brevard, Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Sylva, Burnsville, Spruce Pine, Marion, Lake Lure and Tryon, plus the communities around each of them. We're based in Weaverville. If you're just outside that circle, call and ask — we can often fit it in.

Question 2

How much does drywall or tile work cost?

Accepted Answer

Drywall is usually priced by the square foot and depends on ceiling height, the finish level the room needs and how much cutting the layout involves; tile depends far more on what is under it than on the tile itself. What we can promise is a free walk-through and a written price before anything is cut or torn out, and a phone call with a number if the demolition uncovers something worse.

Question 3

What hours are you open?

Accepted Answer

Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Sundays we keep for emergencies — water damage, a ceiling that has come down, anything that cannot wait until Monday. Call (828) 470-2243 any day and we'll tell you honestly whether it's an emergency or whether it can wait.

Question 4

Do you do small repairs, or only whole rooms?

Accepted Answer

Both. There's no minimum-room rule here. A doorknob hole, a run of popped screws, a crack that keeps coming back or a ceiling opened up by a plumber are all normal jobs for us, and we'll match the existing texture so the patch isn't the first thing you see when you walk in.

Question 5

What's the difference between a level 4 and a level 5 finish?

Accepted Answer

A level 4 finish coats the joints, corners and fastener heads — right for most walls under flat or eggshell paint. A level 5 adds a thin skim over the whole surface, which is what you want where strong side light, big windows or a gloss paint will rake across the wall and show every seam. Level 5 costs more because it is more material and more sanding; we'll tell you which one the room actually needs rather than defaulting to the expensive answer.

Question 6

Is popcorn ceiling removal messy, and is asbestos a concern?

Accepted Answer

It is the messiest job in the trade, which is why most of the first day goes on sealing the room — floors, walls, doorways and vents — before anything is scraped. On asbestos: ceilings sprayed before the early 1980s can contain it, so if the house is that age we'll ask you to have it tested before we quote. It's an inexpensive test and we won't scrape an untested ceiling of that age.

Question 7

Do you waterproof showers before tiling them?

Accepted Answer

Always. Nearly every failed shower we're called out to failed behind the tile, not on it. We fit cement or foam backer, then a waterproofing membrane over every wet surface with the seams and corners banded and the pan sloped to the drain, and only then the tile. Niches and benches get the same treatment before they're tiled.

Question 8

Do you work with builders and general contractors?

Accepted Answer

Yes — new construction is a regular part of what we do. We'll bid the drywall and tile scope from plans or from a walk of the frame, give you a square-foot price with the assumptions written down, and commit to a start date and a realistic day count with drying time included. If weather or a delivery is going to move a date, you'll hear it from us early.

Question 9

Do you speak Spanish?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Leonel and the crew work in English and Spanish, and this whole site has an EN / ES toggle in the header. Call, text or fill in the form in whichever you prefer.
